Widespread moderate falls are expected across the Eastern half of the State and through the Tropics during the week, with some heavy falls across the Wide Bay and surrounds + the Peninsula and into the North Tropical Coast. A large focus of this rainfall will be associated with large areas seeing storms on individual days.
During Monday, rain and storms are expected across Southern & Central Inland QLD, with showers and possible storms across the Southern Gulf and into Northern Inland areas. Double digit accumulations are expected across Southern & Central areas. During Tuesday, rain and storms are expected across South Eastern & Central Eastern QLD with moderate to heavy falls over the Wide Bay & surrounds. Further showers and storms are expected across the Peninsula, Southern Gulf and Northern Inland QLD with double digit accumulations becoming likely. During Wednesday, showers are expected across much of Coastal QLD with further storms across Central Coastal and Northern Tropical areas where double digit accumulations are likely. Thursday, showers and storms are expected to become confined to the Peninsula and Northern Tropics with additional double digit accumulations. Friday, showers and storms are expected across the Peninsula and North Tropical Coast again… with activity also spreading back South into Central Eastern QLD. Further double digit accumulations are likely. Saturday and Sunday should both be similar to Friday, with Sunday also seeing activity re-spread into Inland areas.
This activity should lead to falls of 50mm+ across the Wide Bay and surrounds and 50-100mm with locally higher falls across the Peninsula and North Tropical Coast. Widespread falls of 25-50mm are expected across the remainder of Eastern QLD, as well as through parts of Southern Inland and Central Inland QLD, as well as into the Southern Gulf Coast. Rainfall accumulations are expected to greatly taper off over remaining Inland areas.
